The week-long celebration of the English and Library Week was capped by a costume play competition and a re-telling of Greek myths in a musical in the culminating program held at the High School Covered Courts on December 1, 2010.

Students in all year levels, donned in their chosen literary figure or character, outshone each other as they, in the character they play, spoke for a minute. Freshmen contestants were to choose characters from Philippine and Children’s Literature; Sophomores chose from African and Asian figures; Juniors focused on American and British characters; while the Seniors chose from World Literary figures.

The culminating program opened with a dance interpretation of the popular musical “Cats” by selected seniors. The cosplay followed right after and highlighted by the Learning Group 4218’s musical presentation of the tales of Narcissus and Adonis to the chosen songs from the phenomenal TV musical “Glee”.

Winners in the sponsored contests (poetry writing, narrative writing, elocution, and essay writing) were recognized and given special awards. In between numbers, winners in the Sophomore and Junior Elocution contest delivered their winning pieces.

Mr. Gregorio Abonal, Principal, concluded the culminating activity with his parting speech. The activity had warm reception from the community and everybody expected to actively participate in the costume play in the following school years.
