Hot off the heels of both the PAASCU accreditors' Visit and the Junior-Senior Prom, the Ateneo de Naga University capped off an action-packed week-long competitions for academic, sports and cultural events with the much-awaited Pistaym X last February 9-13, 2009.

Pistaym is an academic, sports and cultural affair for all Ateneans, in which the students are divided into eight groups composed of members from all year levels.  Each student then joins one of more than 30 events, from Basketball to Modern Dance, and even Spelling.

The week-long affair began with the Endurun, more commonly known as the Marathon, and culminated with the final event, the Cheer-and-Dance competition.

In the span of five days between those two events, all eight groups were involved in a fierce but friendly race to accumulate the most points in all of the events, including the heaviest, Participation, which measured the punctuality of the students as well as their participation in the event, either as official contest entries or support group for their respective teams.

In the end, Group 1 (One on One) emerged the Overall Champion, followed by Group 8 (Infiniti) as the first runner-up and Group 7 (70x7x) in third place.

This year's Pistaym was special in that it marked the tenth time the event was held. However, it is important to note that Pistaym is not a regular event; it is decided annually by the faculty and staff, all of whom play a special part as facilitators and coordinators.
