Chinese teachers pose with Mr. Honesto Bermudo III, APCINow the corridors and classrooms sound with intensified "Ni hao!" and "Lao shi hao!".  
 
Mandarin classes, which enhance the Ateneans' mastery of the "putonghua," Chinese characters and Chinese culture, are introduced to the third year students this academic year as more teachers from Fujian Province arrived.
 
Last school year there were two Chinese teachers namely Dai Tingting (Anna) and Xu Shangdong (Paul). Their sessions in Chinese replaced temporarily the Reading sessions among seniors of the previous school year. This academic year, the school welcomes two new mentors: Zhuang Yun (Cindy) and Huang Binqing (Helen). Mr. Xu and Ms. Huang handle classes in the college department. Ms. Zhuang, handles third year classes while Ms. Dai handles fourth year.

0Having their final year at the Ateneo de Naga University High School and before they leave the portals of the school, the senior students gathered together to have a Career Talk last June 11, 2010.

 

The said talk was organized by the alumni of Ateneo de Naga University High School Class 1975. The primary objective of the Career Talk is to make the students informed of the courses, the careers that they will take in college and the kind of life that they will have in the near future.

Girl TalkSeeking to inculcate decorum and grace to young ladies of the Ateneo High School, the Guidance Department conducted its first –time project dubbed Girls’ Talk last June 10 and 15, 2010 at the Covered Courts. 
 
To better accommodate the students, the Guidance Department divided the big group of female attendees into two.  Each was assigned a schedule. One group was comprised of freshmen and sophomores and the other, of juniors and seniors.

Jose Eos TrinidadJose Eos Trinidad’s (HS ’09) depiction of the “Fiesta sa City Jail” bagged top prize in the international essay contest sponsored by the prestigious Oakseed International in the announcement made on June 9, 2010.

 

Trinidad’s YOUR HEART TODAY: Filipinos’ Fight for Alternatives to Child Imprisonment bested numerous entries from around the world. His comparative depiction of the plight of the Filipino minors in jails won Honorable Mention in the 18-22 Years Old Category of the contest.

Platinum CelebrationsA series of solemn and fun-filled activities marked the 70th year of the Ateneo de Naga celebrated on historic June 5, 2010, the date Jesuits opened Camarines Catholic Academy as Ateneo back in 1940.

 

The High School community actively participated in the string of activities. Various year levels in their signature color and PE uniform represented the high school in the following activities:

Admin bares: freshmen up by 13% Print E-mail

Freshmen UP by 12%School Admission and Aid Director, Mr. Geraldo Brizuela, announced that the number of first year enrollees exceeded last year’s number as it hit highest 13% by the time the classes started last June 1, 2010.

 

“Incoming freshmen continue to enlist even if the academic year has already started,” Mr. Brizuela reveals. He further adds, “The number of first year enrollees exceeds the projected number of the learning groups to be completed.”
