Honesto Bermudo III and Neva Bermundo

Ateneo High School Assistant Principal Honesto Bermudo III and Mrs. Neva Bermundo, faculty member, participated in two separate education convention and conference in Thailand.

 

Mrs. Bermundo took part in the International Conference in Educational Research held at Khon Kaen University in Northeastern Thailand last September 11-12, 2009. In the conference, Mrs. Bermundo presented her research on the effectiveness of item analysis in classroom instruction. With her was Prof. Cesar Bermundo who also presented a developed system on statistical tools.

 

Last August 27-29, 2009, Mr. Honesto Bermudo toured the public schools of Bangkok, Thailand with representatives from the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd).

 

Mr. Bermudo’s trip to Bangkok centered on the travel theme, “Practicing Learning-Centered Education: Realities and Challenges.” In Bangkok, the Philippine team visited exemplary public schools like Kosit Somorson School and Photisarnphitayakarn School.

 

According to Mr. Bermudo, “Public education in Thailand is given top priority and focus by the government. Government basic education schools in Thailand are comparable to top private schools in the Philippines.”
