Aiming at reviving the awareness of the students to the local games now slowly diminishing in the advent of computer-related games, the department decided to include the games in the celebration of the Social Studies Week.
Everyone gave their best effort since Laro ng Lahi was not merely for fun, it was actually one of the major projects in Social Studies. Participation and ranking in the games form 50% of the total project grade. Each year level competed among themselves. Winners were determined through a point system. The one with the highest point gets a perfect score of 100.
There were six games namely Shato, Sipa, Patintero, Tumbang Preso, and Jolens Kwik. Since there were only limited slots for each game, not everyone of the class was able to participate. Nevertheless, the non-participants could be used as substitutes if the supposed player was absent or injured.
It was indeed a week of fun and laughter. Ateneans once more proved their excellence in sports and strategy.
