| Juniors embark on Science Tour to Albay |

Spearheaded by Ms. Wendy Solomo, a Chemistry teacher, the tour had several destinations in the itinerary. The tour aimed primarily at increasing the students’ knowledge about science specifically Chemistry. Part of the tour was the sidetrip to entertainment and business hubs of the city such as pacific Mall and Embarcadero. The students, which filled five buses, were chaperoned by teachers and staff.
![]() The first stop of the trip was the visit and mini lecture at the Camalig dairy farm. The students were shown how dairy farm milk was pasteurized to become safe for human consumption. The commercial milk is even available in strawberry and chocolate flavor. Immediately after the dairy farm visit was the brief excursion to the Biogas Production Area of the farm. Caretakers explained how farm animal waste turns into renewable source of energy.
Following the stop at the dairy Farm was visit to the Embarcadero. The students enjoyed taking souvenir pictures with the scenic seascape of the newest entertainment hub in Legaspi City.
The group proceeded to the paper handicraft factory at Sto. Domingo. Students were taught how recycled paper is turned into export-quality decorative items.
Next, the students and the teachers toured the metal craft shops in Tabaco City where local blacksmiths and demonstrated painstaking creation of highly patronized Samurai swords, bolo, kitchen knives and keychains.
For the final stop, the group made a trip to Tiwi where they witnessed how beautiful ceramics and export clay products are thrown into the potter’s wheel and fired.
