0The Community Program Committee, the Coordinator of Student Activities and Community Programs (CSACP) and the Ateneo de Naga Student Government Organization (ANSGO), through the Assisi Development Program (Hapag-asa Integrated Nutrition Program) have started a feeding program aimed at normalizing the health of malnourished children in the adopted coomunities of Ateneo de Naga High School.

The program aims to help children whose age range between six months to three years old living in Grandview Urban Poor, Bagong Sirang and Cofradia through feeding, with plans of expanding the program to Cararayan, Greater Pacol Area and possibly Balatas.

The team have already started with the weight and height measuring last March 27 and started with the feeding on May 20 (Grandview Urban Poor) and May 25 (Bagong Sirang and Cofradia). The said program gives the beneficiaries a supply of Manna Potato Pack, a fortified potato and soy protein meal package for them to eat three times a day for three months.

The first monthly monitoring has just been held, and the results were promising, with the lowest weight increase being 0.5 kilograms and the highest being 4.8 kilograms, and the lowest height increase being 0.18 centimeters and the highest being 5.8 centimeters. The said organizations are also planning to extend the program to accommodate children from ages 6-12 years old, with a different menu, called the Manna Pack Rice, a fortified rice meal, to suit their needs. However, the CSACP is asking for assistance from the Ateneans and their parents and hopes to coordinate with the PTA and other cause-oriented organizations to help with the identification of malnourished children belonging to the said age range for the ADF (who follows the International Reference Standards of the World Health Organization) to verify the list of qualified beneficiaries, and to also help raise funds to further finance and continue the program.
