11th PISTAYM ends in spectacle, revelry

0With Group 5 hailed as Overall Champion, the 11th PISTAYM, a week-long festival of academic, cultural and sports competitions among teachers and students, ended with spectacle and revelry during the Cheer and Dance Competition and Awards Ceremony on February 13, 2010.

 

The students, divided into eight groups, competed in 38 events and were coached by their respective teacher-mentor group coordinators assigned for each group. Each group, rallying with each own signature team name and color, was composed of students from all year levels.

Pistaym sports, cultural fest

PistaymHot off the heels of both the PAASCU accreditors' Visit and the Junior-Senior Prom, the Ateneo de Naga University capped off an action-packed week-long competitions for academic, sports and cultural events with the much-awaited Pistaym X last February 9-13, 2009.


Pistaym is an academic, sports and cultural affair for all Ateneans, in which the students are divided into eight groups composed of members from all year levels.  Each student then joins one of more than 30 events, from Basketball to Modern Dance, and even Spelling.


The week-long affair began with the Endurun, more commonly known as the Marathon, and culminated with the final event, the Cheer-and-Dance competition.

The swimming team of the Ateneo de Naga University High School once again poured oil on troubled waters as they conquered top prizes in the City Athletic Meet’s Secondary Boys and Girls Swimming events at the Naga City Sports Complex on January 22, 2009.

 

With the Ateneans’ winning streak, they will be representing the city in the forthcoming Bicol Meet.

Knights join Jesuit Invitational Games; Quiñones hailed in Mythical 5

Photos by Kenneth WuHigh school cagers represented the Ateneo de Naga in the Jesuit Invitational Games (JIG) held last December 1-5, 2008 at the Xavier University (Ateneo de Cagayan), Cagayan de Oro City.

 

Joining the bi-annual games were five other Jesuit schools from all over the country: Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), Xavier University (XU), Sacred Heart School-Jesuit (SHS-J), Ateneo de Zamboanga (AdZU), Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU). Ateneo de Iloilo and Xavier School in Manila sent no delegation in the games.

Who says they are only good in the four walls of the classroom?

 

The faculty and staff of the Ateneo de Naga High School took a break from piles of school work to have fun in the Faculty and Staff Club-sponsored Sports Fest and Laro ng lahi held at the Covered Courts on December 6, 2008.

 

The faculty and staff of the high school numbering to almost a hundred were grouped to four teams namely: Red, Yellow, Blue and Green Teams. Members of the Faculty and Staff Club equally assigned the members according to physical ability, age and gender.

 

The four teams clashed in the following events: “kadang-kadang” (foot race using coconut shell), “patintero,” kick baseball, “palo sebo,” Coke drinking, “polvoron” eating, “pukpok palayok,” tug-of-war and “turuhugan dagom.
