INSIDE: THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY The devotion to the Blessed Mother in her different titles outweighs other Catholic devotions combined.  The devotion to the Virgin of Peñafrancia is an example. Why do Bicolanos have this profound affection to the Lady of Iberian origin? THERE CAN BE MIRACLES Unlike Santino who is only a fictional character, there exists another performer of miracles who even if she didn't debut in the big screen, has her popularity carried on for years.

THE WISDOM OF THE 3 FACES Our Lady of Peñafrancia has three faces of different structures and suggests different meanings.  All over the world, the faces can be found at Salamanca, Spain and in the Philippines. CANONICAL CORONATION When a religious image is canonically crowned, the Vatican gives its high recognition.  On the recommendation of commissioned congregations in the Vatican, the Pope issues an Apostolic letter of a Papal Bull expressing its recognition before the symbolic coronation. INA IN HER 300 YEARS Every year Bikolanos and even people all around the world celebrate the Peñafrancia Festival on the 10th of September.  It is considered as the largest Marian devotion.  In fact, this year the festival itself has already celebrated its 300th year of devotion to the Our Lady of Peñafrancia or to Ina, as commonly addressed by most devotees. THE QUEEN AND HER KNIGHTS Why is Ina so valued by Ateneo and why is devotion to her cherished and nurtured as a prized treasure? Why does she live and is loved in every Atenean's heart? COLGANTE TRAGEDY The eve of the proclamation of Martial Law in Bicol saw the tragedy that marred the Patroness' festive return to Her shrine.  The collapse of the bridge claimed 138 lives.  But that mishap on 1972 never stopped devotees from flocking to the center of fervent veneration. FINDING INA A morning in the month of August 1981 caught the devotees by surprise.  The 275-year-old image of the Virgin was missing.  It took nearly a year for the image to be recovered and returned back home.
