GOALS

Religious Education specifically aims “to develop, with God’s help, an as yet initial faith, and to advance in fullness and to nourish day by day the Christian life” of the students. It aims “therefore at developing understanding of the mystery of Christ in the light of God’s Word, so that the whole of a person’s humanity is impregnated with the Word” The goal of the Religious Education program is to guide the students towards the acceptance of the teaching of Jesus Christ through the Church by rendering parish/church services which shall be monitored every quarter, and more so, to lead them to a total commitment to the Person of Christ. This leads the students to develop specific value/s as they go through the courses:

1st year: Self-image (Pagka-Tao),

2nd year: Humaneness (Pagsasa-tao);

3rd year: Interpersonal Relationship (Pakikipagkapwa-Tao), and;

4th year: Gratuitous Love (Utang na Loob).

Though each individual person as student is the object of value formation in the entire Religious Education program, it is hoped that the entire Religious Education program in all year levels in the Ateneo de Naga University High School shall aid in the formation and strengthening of the family. Therefore all values in focus in each academic quarter in all levels cascade into the formation of the family—a family anchored on Faith in God.
